To create a product in your catalog, go to Catalog, open the relevant category, click + Product, and select Product. Then complete the 4 tabs in the product page: Information, Pricing, Online Store, and Complementary Products.
Prerequisites
A category must exist before you can create a product. If no category is available, create one first from Catalog > + Category.
Step 1: Create the product in the catalog
Go to the Catalog tab and open the category that matches your product.
Click + Product.
Choose the type:
Product: limited quantity.
Option: unlimited quantity, ideal for consumables such as fuel or other products available in unlimited quantities.
The product page will open with 4 tabs to complete.
Step 2: Information tab
General: enter the product name, the security deposit amount, and the VAT rate if it differs from the default rate.
Quantity: enter the available quantity. If you track products using serial numbers, enable the option and enter each serial number.
Filters: complete the filters associated with the product to help customers refine their searches in your online store.
Documents: attach any explanatory documents that should be provided to the customer during the rental, such as user manuals, guides, or brochures.
Questionnaire: associate a participant questionnaire if you have created one in Settings > Internal Management > Questionnaires.
Condition report: select a specific condition report template for this product if you have created one.
💡 Serial numbers allow you to identify each individual product and track its lifecycle accurately.
You can also select a specific condition report for each product if you have created one in your settings.
Step 3: Pricing tab
The Pricing tab displays the rental ranges defined at category level. Enter a price for each range.
Two products in the same category can have different prices.
💡 For more information about rental ranges, check out our dedicated article: How do rental ranges work?
Step 4: Online Store tab
Visibility: choose between:
Available: the product is displayed in the online store.
Restricted: the product is only visible as part of a package or as a complementary product.
Unavailable: the product is hidden from the online store.
Store name: enter a different name if the name displayed publicly should differ from the internal product name.
Photos: add up to 5 high-quality photos to make your product more appealing to customers.
Description: write a detailed description and add a YouTube video if you wish.
💡 For the best results, follow the recommendations for image format and use high-quality photos that showcase your products.
Step 5: Complete the "Complementary Products" tab
Associate complementary products that will appear as additional options below your main product in the online store.
For example, you can add helmets or trailers to an electric mountain bike to increase the average order value.
Example: if you have created an "Accessories" category containing helmets, trailers, and other items, you can associate these products with the main product, such as an electric mountain bike. They will appear as optional add-ons below the mountain bike in the online store, making it easy for customers to add them to their booking and helping increase the average order value.
Once all tabs have been completed, click Save in the bottom-right corner. Your product is ready!
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a Product and an Option?
A Product has a limited quantity and is blocked in the schedule when a booking is made.
An Option has an unlimited quantity and is never blocked. Use Options for consumables, insurance, and additional services.
Do I need to create a category before creating a product?
Yes. A category is required because it defines the rental ranges and default VAT rate that apply to all products within it.
Create it first from Catalog > + Category.
Can I hide a product online while still using it internally?
Yes. In the product’s Online Store tab, select the Unavailable visibility setting.
The product will remain available for internal bookings but will not appear in your online store.
Can I show customers the exact number of products available in the catalog?
Yes. Enable this setting from Online Store > Products > Stock.
The number of products available for the selected period will then be displayed directly in the catalog list, without customers having to click on the product to see it.
It may take a few minutes after activation for the information to update on the customer side.
Can I create a variable price or a price calculated as a percentage?
No. Prices are fixed and must be entered manually for each rental range.
Dynamic pricing and percentage-based pricing are not available.
How can I block a product on specific dates while keeping it available for internal bookings?
Go to the product schedule and create an unavailability period for the desired dates.
The product will be blocked for online bookings during those dates but will remain available for internal bookings from your Lokki interface.
Can I duplicate an existing product to create a similar one?
Yes. From the product page, click Actions > Duplicate.
A copy of the product will be created in the same category with the same settings. You can then edit the fields you want, such as the name, quantity, and pricing, and click Save.
